| About Us
Doctor in Latin means “teacher.” As chiropractic physicians, we are dedicated to educating our patients about their health and empowering them to take an active role in their healthcare. We form a partnership with our patients to work as a team with the common goal of total body wellness. This partnership also includes taking the time to listen and address the health concerns of our patients. By forming this bond with our patient, we witness how far reaching and long lasting the effects of good health can be on a person’s life.

Dr. Topher Rowenhorst was first introduced to chiropractic following a car accident in his teen years. When an injury to his lower back was quickly resolved after seeing his local chiropractor, Topher decided that he would like to pursue it as a career. Topher received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College after getting a bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Topher relocated to Boulder in 2009 and joined South Boulder Chiropractic in January of 2010.
Topher has experience working with difficult low back issues and specializes in a technique called Flexion Distraction. Flexion Distraction is a gentle form of manual traction that aims to reduce the internal pressure on the spinal discs as well as the pressure applied to the spinal nerves. It also helps to return the spinal joints to their normal function. Flexion Distraction has been shown to be very beneficial to conditions such as sciatic pain, disc herniations and general low back pain. Topher also enjoys working closely with athletes and treating sports related injuries.
While at Drury University, Topher was an All-American swimmer and was a two-time captain of teams that won NCAA Div II National Championships. He continues to be an active member of a local masters swimming team. Topher also enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and backpacking with his significant other, Dr. Hillary Bauman, and their dog named Doc.

Dr. Hillary Bauman, knew at the age of thirteen that her calling was to become a chiropractor. The positive benefits of being under chiropractic care for a variety of sports injuries beginning in elementary school and continuing through her college sports career only confirmed to her that this was to be her path in life. Dr. Bauman graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College-Kansas City in 2009 with her Doctorate in Chiropractic. After graduation, she headed west from Northeastern Kansas and completed an internship with Dr. Elizabeth Decker, focusing on the care of pregnant women and children. Immediately thereafter Dr. Bauman started practicing at South Boulder Chiropractic.
Dr. Bauman has worked with a wide range of patients dealing with everything from acute injuries to wellness care. Dr. Bauman has a passion for supporting and caring for women through their pregnancy. During pregnancy, the body goes through several changes in a short period of time. Chiropractic care helps to keep the pelvis in a neutral position, which can significantly decrease discomfort during pregnancy and help prepare the body for labor and delivery.
Dr. Bauman enjoys spending time outside camping, rock climbing, horseback riding, and canoeing with her significant other Dr. Topher Rowenhorst.
